DiZZY DiZIGN were born on April 22, 2008 in Kyparissia (Messinia, GR) through the ashes of a previous project, since 2001. The first line-up was: Dimitris Sampaziotis - guitars, lead vocals Marios Petropoulos - guitars Stefanos Sampaziotis - keyboards, effects, vocals Dionisis Sampaziotis - drums, vocals Panagiotis Sampaziotis - bass The band's activity begins from Kyparissia (the diz diz base), with rehearsals and live performances several times by 2009 to date. As regards the composition of authentic material, there was a remarkable amount of ideas to work on, since 2006. So, the musical horizons expanded with every jam or gig and through a continuous development, DiZZY DiZIGN made the big step forward by recording the result of a three-year working experience. The recordings made between December 2009 and July 2010, in Patras (GR). The whole project is titled Dizality and finally, it's been released in LP format. It should be noted that the process of completion of this release was mostly self-financed (please, see the relevant post with the release announcement). It contains music influenced by the 70’s progressive rock and the 90’s progressive metal. Further inspirations came from the jazz fields, the avant-garde trips and the domestic musical traditions. After Marios' withdrawal from the creative section (back in March 2010), the band turned in quite different musical directions from those which were presented at Dizality. By July 2010, Thanasis Sampaziotis (sax and effects) participated in some rehearsals, contributing to the new efforts for more experimental / impro / jazz ways. Finally, he joined the ranks of the group in October 2010.
